Fel rhiant, chi sy'n gyfrifol yn ôl y gyfraith, am sicrhau bod eich plentyn yn mynychu'r ysgol.  
Os yw eich plentyn yn methu’r ysgol heb reswm derbyniol, rydych mewn perygl o gael Hysbysiad Cosb Benodedig neu gael eich erlyn. 
Os na all eich plentyn fynychu'r ysgol, rhaid i chi hysbysu'r ysgol i esbonio pam cyn gynted â phosibl.  
Gall ysgol eich plentyn awdurdodi absenoldebau: 

• Os yw eich plentyn yn rhy sâl i fynd i’r ysgol
• Os oes ganddynt apwyntiad deintyddol neu feddygol
• Os yw perthynas wedi marw
• Am resymau ee gŵyl grefyddol

Nid yw'r canlynol yn rhesymau derbyniol dros golli'r ysgol a gellir eu hystyried yn absenoldebau heb awdurdod:

• teithiau dydd
• teithiau siopa
• diwrnodau i ffwrdd i ddathlu pen-blwydd
• ymweld â pherthnasau
• cysgu’n hwyr
• gofalu am frodyr neu chwiorydd

Mae'n rhaid i chi gyflwyno cais ffurfiol i'r Pennaeth i fynd â phlant ar wyliau yn ystod y tymor ysgol. Os gwrthodir y cais, bydd yn cael ei ystyried yn absenoldeb heb awdurdod, a gallech dderbyn Hysbysiad Cosb Benodedig.

As a parent, you are legally responsible for making sure that your child attends school.  
If your child fails to attend school without an acceptable reason, you risk getting a Fixed Penalty Notice or being prosecuted. 
If your child cannot attend school, you must notify the school to explain why as soon as possible.  
Your child’s school can authorise absences if: 

• Your child is too ill to attend school
• They have a dental or medical appointment
• There is a bereavement of a relative
• There is a need for religious observance

The following are not acceptable reasons to miss school and may be classed as unauthorised:  

• day trips
• shopping trips
• days off for birthdays
• to visit relatives
• sleeping in
• to look after siblings

You must make a formal request to the Headteacher to take children on holiday during the school term. If the request is declined, it will be classed as unauthorised, and you may be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice.

Reporting Absences

Mae'n hanfodol eich bod yn cofnodi absenoldeb eich plentyn pob dydd dydyn nhw ddim yn yr ysgol a nodi rheswm. Gallwch ffonio'r ysgol i gofnodi absenoldeb eich plentyn neu allwch chi ddefnyddio Classcharts.
It is essential that pupil absences are reported with a reason every day that your child isn't in school. You can phone the school or report absence using Classcharts.
